Roaming with Roxie

Hi, I’m Roxie—a X-ray tech, travel blogger, and most importantly, wife and mother of three.

This travel blog was born out of a very personal mission: to encourage people to stop waiting for the “perfect time” and start living. That mindset didn’t come from reading a quote or watching a movie. It came from painful and life-altering experiences.

Over the years, I’ve lost several close loved ones, all gone far too soon. The most heartbreaking and life-changing was the unexpected passing of my 18-year-old son in 2018. This kind of loss doesn’t just break your heart, it breaks your soul. It strips away the illusion that we have all the time in the world and leaves you seeing life differently. You realize how fragile every moment is and  learn to focus only on what truly matters in life.

After his passing, I started traveling because I didn’t know what else to do. I needed to move. I needed to breathe. I needed space. But somewhere along the way, travel became more than just an escape, it became a way to help heal my soul. Now, travel is how I reconnect with the world, with myself, and with the people and things that matter most. It’s a way for me to honor the people I’ve lost by living life to it’s fullest potential.  I share my journeys and adventures here in the hope that it sparks something in you too: the courage to stop waiting and start truly living.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, burned out, or like you’re just going through the motions, this space is for you. Whether it’s a weekend escape or a journey that shifts your perspective, I hope you find the courage to stop postponing joy. Take a trip, make memories, and start saying yes—to new places, and moments that will stay with you forever.

Because the truth is, we don’t always get later.

Let’s get out and see the world!
